Phoenix Labs is looking for a data-focused individual to help us make thoughtful use of the information we gather to delight our players.  You will analyze massive amounts of data to inform product strategy and direction, working across all aspects of the product, on both the development & publishing side, to better understand the performance and potential of our live games, Dauntless and Fae Farm.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze complex data to more deeply understand our audience and their behaviours and desires.
  • Partner with feature leads to inform the strategic direction of our games.
  • Analyze financial indicators and support revenue forecast exercises.
  • Help us understand the needs and wants of our players from all over the world.
  • Design experiments and provide perspective to test teams’ assumptions and inform their actions.
  • Work with people across the company to grow the understanding and impact of analytics in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Share your results in dashboards and presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a Data Analyst role directly supporting a video game product, ideally GaaS.
  • Minimum of five years of professional work experience analyzing large data sets and informing company strategy, or in management consulting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build understanding with data consumers of all levels.
  • Proven experience writing SQL queries and using BI software.
  • Experience with A/B testing and cohort analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A graduate degree or meaningful work experience in consulting, consumer insights, product strategy or revenue strategy.
  • Experience writing queries with DBT.
  • Knowledge of Python, ML and ETL techniques.
  • Knowledge of AWS, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
  • Experience, knowledge, or willingness to learn qualitative user research (surveys, focus groups, ethnographic research).
  • Experience with Gem.

Phoenix Labs believes in pay equity and we welcome conversations with candidates on how their salary expectations align with our established ranges. As you progress through the interview process, it may be determined that your experience might align better with a higher/lower level of position than you originally applied for and, should that happen, we will discuss the new pay range with you before moving forward with additional interviews or an offer. 

Phoenix Labs covers the cost of basic medical for employees and their dependents, in addition to offering generous Dental and Paramedical Services. For 2023, we match employees' contributions to their RRSP up to 5% of their salaries. We provide employees with a flexible vacation plan, all the Provincial Statutory holidays, and unlimited sick time.

$115,000$190,000 CAD
